Third Annual Police Memorial Ceremony

Fallen Heroes to be Honored at Police Memorial Ceremony

Join the Manhattan Beach Police Department and City officials in paying tribute to the three Manhattan Beach police officers killed in the line of duty: Officer Charles Grau, Officer Richard Giles, and Officer Martin Ganz.

The memorial will feature speakers including Mayor Mitch Ward and Police Chief Rod Uyeda. The Memorial will also include vocal and instrumental performances by members of the community.

Mayor Mitch Ward has proclaimed the week of May 9th-15th, 2010, as National Police Officers Memorial week. In the Proclamation, Mayor Ward states that this week is “…in honor of those law enforcement officers who, through their courageous deeds, have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their community or have become disabled in the performance of duty.”

Please join us in paying tribute to these three officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting our community.

All are invited to attend this ceremony.

Please arrive by 8:45 AM. Parking will be available in the Civic Center lot off 13th Street at Morningside Drive and at the Metlox parking structure, located at 1220 Morningside Drive, Manhattan Beach.
