Christmas Day and New Year's Day are holidays observed by both Waste Management (Refuse) and Athens Services (Street Sweeping).  Therefore, a modified service schedule will be in place for both refuse and street sweeping.   

Refuse
Refuse will be collected ONE DAY LATE for those whose collection typically occurs between Tuesday, December 25 - Friday, December 28th, and Tuesday, January 1st - Friday, January 4th.  For example, if your normal service day falls on Tuesday, December 25th, your trash, recycling and greenwaste will be collected on Wednesday, December 26th.  If your normal service day falls on Friday, December 28th, your trash, recycling and greenwaste will be collected on Saturday, December 29th.

Waste Management will collect any additional trash and recycling materials that do not fit in a resident’s container from December 26, 2012 through January 11, 2013. Please bag or box these items (no loose items allowed), and place next to, or on top of, your refuse cans for collection. (Bulky items are not included in this additional collection, and need to be requested by contacting Waste Management's Customer Service.)

Street Sweeping
There will be NO STREET SWEEPING on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 and Tuesday, January 1, 2013 in observance of the Christmas and New Year's holidays.  Service on these days will not be made up; all other routes will operate as normal.
