The City of Manhattan Beach Public Works Department will conduct a public meeting on Thursday, January 10, 2013, 6:00 p.m to discuss planned improvements to existing stairs leading from The Strand to the Marvin Braude Bike Path and installation of two wheel chair ramps.
The City has secured federal funds to enhance access from The Strand to the beach. The project includes removal and replacement of stairs at 21st, 25th, 29th, 30th, 32nd, 33rd, and 35th Streets; rehabilitation of existing stairs and balusters at 8th, 10th, 14th, 16th, 18th, 20th, 23rd, 24th, 26th, 31st, and 34th Streets, Marine Avenue and Rosecrans Avenue; and, installation of two new wheelchair ramps leading from the Strand to the Bike Path immediately south of Marine Avenue and immediately south of 26th Street.
The objective of the meeting is to solicit public input regarding design elements of the project. Manhattan Beach residents are encouraged to attend. Design consultant representatives and City project management staff will be in attendance to discuss the project and answer questions.
