Request for Artists' Proposals for 2008 Arts Festival

For artists/educators with some professional background who would like to get contracted to teach at the 2008 Arts Festival, we are now accepting submissions and artists' proposals. This is a paid position and this year's theme is Art Goes Green, emphasizing environmental awareness, and a unique opportunity to combine your love for the arts with an environmental message that will inspire young kids to explore new ways to Go Green.

In an effort to conserve, artists are urged to pick a project which utilizes supplies that the Cultural Arts Division has on hand or made from recyclables or natural materials. The 13th Annual Arts Festival 2008
The 13th annual Manhattan Beach Arts Festival takes place Sunday, September 14 from 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM on Manhattan Beach Boulevard between Valley Drive and Highland Avenue. Unique workshops give children and adults a chance at making their own hands-on creations from surfboard painting to metal crafting, portrait drawing and puppet making. The free participatory cultural event for all ages features art making workshops, performances, live music, storytelling and a wide variety of international foods. Featuring almost two dozen artists and performers, the festival offers a unique array of activities this year. Animals and bicycles are not permitted in this area during the event.
