International Surf & Health Festival August 4-5, 2007 The International Surf & Health Festival is co-sponsored by the South Bay cities of Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors and the Beach Cities Health District. It takes place one weekend each summer in various venues. It includes lifeguard championship competitions, surfing championships, bodysurfing championships, a two-mile beach run, fishing derby, a health fair, volleyball tournament, pier-to-pier paddleboard championship, sand castle design contest, pier-to-pier swim, dory races, youth swim and paddle competitions and information booths featuring marine animals, and arts & crafts.
