Hazard Mitigation Plan Public Meeting / Workshop
Manhattan Beach
Public Meeting/Workshop to Preview
Draft Hazard Mitigation Plan
The City of Manhattan Beach has scheduled a Public Meeting/Workshop to preview the draft Hazard Mitigation Plan:
Monday, September 8
6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Police and Fire Community Room, 400-15th Street
The Hazard Mitigation Plan is required by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to encourage local pre-disaster mitigation planning. Adoption of the plan by the Manhattan Beach City Council and approval of the Plan by FEMA would make the City eligible for federal disaster mitigation funds. The Plan outlines specific natural hazards that can affect the City. These hazards include earthquakes, floods, landslides, and tsunamis. The Plan includes City planning strategies, mitigation measures, and the level of risk each hazard presents.
