Note: This is a special Planning Commission Meeting and will not broadcasted.
The City of Manhattan Beach invites all interested persons to attend a Planning Commission workshop on the City’s 2008-2014 General Plan Housing Element update. The Housing Element is one of seven mandated elements that must be included in a city’s local General Plan in accordance with State Law. State Law also requires that each local government is to review and update their Housing Elements every five (5) years and obtain approval from the State Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD). The workshop is intended to provide an opportunity for all community and housing stakeholders to hear more about the Housing Element update, including its purpose, process, and identification of needs and priorities, and offer comments.
The Housing Element contains goals, policies and programs related to the development, maintenance and improvement of the City’s housing stock, as well as an analysis of housing needs, opportunities and constraints related to the production of housing.
For further information please visit the Community Development Department's General Plan page, or contact Michael Rocque, Assistant Planner of the Community Development Department at (310) 802-5504.
