Concrete Repairs Project is Starting!

Coming soon to your neighborhood!

  • Date: -

On January 12th, the City's Concrete Repairs Project will commence.  The work will consist primarily of removal and replacement of damaged or worn concrete curbs, sidewalks, cross-gutters and handicap ramps.  This annual City project will this year focus on the area bounded by Marine Avenue to the north, Manhattan Beach Boulevard to the south, Sepulveda Boulevard to the west, and Aviation Boulevard to the east.

In addition, concrete repair work will also be done at 33rd Street at Sepulveda Boulevard on the west side (long standing pothole area), the west side of Sepulveda between 19th Street and Longfellow, the north side of Ardmore Avenue between 27th Street and Oak Avenue, and at several locations in Section 2 (see map).

Many of this year's concrete repairs are located where street trees have damaged the sidewalk due to root intrusion. Residents can avail themselves of the contractor's concrete repair services while the contractor is on site, if they wish to do so. Please understand that these repair services are a private business transaction between the property owner and the contractor, and the City’s only involvement is to ensure that the work meets City construction standards.

Temporary "No Parking, Tow-Away" construction zone signs will be posted in affected areas 72 hours in advance of any work.  You may experience temporary loss of street parking and sidewalk access during the brief time that work is being peformed in your area.  We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation, and ask that all residents try to minimize sprinkler run-off while construction is taking place on their street.

If you have any questions or special needs, the contractor (Kalban, Inc.) can be contacted by calling Mike Nava, Project Manager, at (818) 504-1065, or the City's Maintenance Superintendent, Juan Price, at (310) 802-5313.
