Kids! Ready to start a magical adventure? Parents, do you want to inspire your child to unlock their creative potential? With pencils, puppets, three dimensional castles and more, kids will learn how to uncover their own creativity with challenging and fun art projects that let their imaginations run wild. Fun and imagination combine to let a child tell a story with their art and gain confidence in their own talents.

Art Camp Week Projects and Activities:
Day One: Creating Your World
The adventure begins with an introduction to story telling by Manhattan Beach Youth Librarian Mr. Hammer that will help to spark the imagination. Then Art Instructor Georgette Buckley will help kids create a three dimensional fantasyland; this is the place where their story begins.
Day 2: The Hero Arrives
Art Instructor George Huante will teach kids how to draw a hero and draw into life all
the characters to form their story: villains, princesses, sidekicks, along with all the animals and mythical creatures that live there.
Day 3: Set Sail for Adventure
Using paper, pen and ink, Art Instructor George Huante will help kids make a map
for the adventure and then create a seaworthy vessel to set off in. A nautical journey
begins; just beware of the pirates and sea creatures!
Day 4: Things You Find Along the Way
Art Instructor Rita Anacker will help kids make props to go with their story; magic wands,
swords, crowns and more! Then create mythical monster sock puppets to fight or aid your hero on their quest.
Day 5: Journey’s End
Using the previous projects, you will tell or act out the story you have created. Then we
will all sit down together and have a ‘Magical Feast’ to celebrate the end of the journey.
