This will be the 15th Annual Holiday Open House and the first time they're partnering with the City of Manhattan Beach’s 20th Annual Pier Lighting Ceremony. The Holiday Open House event is the kickoff to the holiday season and the Downtown Business Association’s way of saying thank you to their customers and community for their support and patronage throughout the year. Participating downtown merchants will keep their businesses open until 9:00 PM.
The 20th Annual Pier Lighting Ceremony will begin at 5:00 PM with live entertainment from Manhattan Beach Middle School Choir, Mira Costa High School Choir and Dave Leahey. Mayor Portia Cohen will “flip the switch” at 7:00 PM and illuminate the Manhattan Beach Pier in beautiful holiday lights!
Storefronts are decorated and judged during a window decorating contest. Carolers and strolling musicians will provide entertainment throughout the entire downtown. Santa and his helpers will be at the Pier available for photos. Live reindeer will be seen downtown along with creative balloon making and other entertainment. The P.S. I Love you Foundation will be collecting toys for at-risk children on Manhattan Avenue.
Enjoy music, food and great shopping until 9:00 PM. Bring the kids and don’t forget your gift list.
In case of rain, the Pier Lighting ceremony will be held at the Joslyn Community Center, 1601 Valley Drive.
