On Thursday, November 19, 2009, at 6:30 PM in the Joslyn Community Center (1601 North Valley Drive), the City of Manhattan Beach will be holding an informational public meeting for District 13 property owners to introduce the REVISED assessment method of apportionment. District 13 is the undergrounding district identified by the boundaries of Marine Avenue to Rosecrans Avenue, from Alma Avenue to Highland Avenue.
The presentation will cover the basis of assessment for the District, special benefit factors, cost of the District, and apportionment calculations.
Please be aware that District 13 has NOT yet been established. The District will not legally form unless more than 50% of the weighted return ballots from District 13 property owners are in favor of the assessment and City Council ratifies the vote. Voting will take place once the assessment amount for each parcel has been determined and notices have sent to property owners (estimated to take place in early 2010).
