New swim team enrollment is dependent upon number of returning swim team members. Therefore, the available spots will vary for each season. For example, we may have no spots available for age group 8 to 9; however, there may be 10 spots available for age group 7 to 8.

Swimmers age 6 need to swim one length of each of the following: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly (freestyle and backstroke are timed). Swimmers age 7 to 17 need to swim two lengths of freestyle and backstroke and one length of breaststroke and butterfly (freestyle and backstroke are timed). Each individual swimmer is evaluated based on their time and performance of each stroke.

What to Expect the Day of the Tryout
Swimmers and their parents/guardians can arrive anytime between 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Begg Pool located at 1402 North Peck Avenue, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266. Upon arrival, the parent/guardian will fill out a registration form with payment (credit card or check only). Once the registration form is completed and payment received, the swimmer will be timed and their strokes evaluated by one of the swim team coaches on deck.
