The City of Manhattan Beach has proclaimed a Local State of Emergency (PDF) regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The staff continue to monitor and speak with the health experts at Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LACDPH), California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Their health expertise and guidance are critical to the City’s planning and response to the coronavirus. On March 11, 2020, the coronavirus outbreak was characterized as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO).
CURRENT INITIATIVES AND UPDATES
- Place Your Order for Free At-Home COVID-19 Tests: Residential households in the U.S. can order one set of #4 free at-home tests from USPS.com. Here's what you need to know about your order: Limit of one order per residential address; One order includes four (4) individual rapid antigen COVID-19 tests; Orders will ship free starting the week of December 19, 2022.
- DRIVE-THRU TESTING CENTER, Redondo Beach - Health Unite No Cost Rapid COVID-19 Testing - Redondo Beach (Corner of Aviation Boulevard and Marine Avenue, by Northrop Grumman)
No appointment necessary. Both Rapid Antigen and PCR tests are available with fast turnaround results. Free PPE like masks and sanitizer to patients to keep themselves and families safe (available while they last).

COVID-19 Vaccine Information
The distribution of COVID-19 vaccines is currently being managed by Los Angeles County and healthcare providers, however, the City is currently in communication with the County to ensure vaccine distribution can be executed toward the general public in the future. COVID-19 Testing
Testing still plays an important role in reducing the spread of COVID-19. Free COVID-19 testing is available to all Los Angeles County residents at drive-up and walk-up testing sites. Appointments are currently not needed and you are to register on-site at LA County and City of LA testing sites. Appointments can still be made and can hope reduce wait times.
