Elegant Plants for Dry Climates

Free Class at the Manhattan Beach Botanical Garden

World renowned Cycad Expert Maurice Levin, teams up with regional landscaping guru Mike Garcia of Enviroscape, to present a unique class on elegant looking plants for dry beach climates.

As you may know, California is in a serious drought situation and the City of Manhattan Beach has restricted outdoor watering use for landscape. The importance of soil and mulch will be discussed as a way to keep dry landscapes thriving. Rebates to help with converting your traditional landscape into a drought tolerant one are also available through the So Cal Water Smart program.

This free class is located in the Amphitheater in the center of the Botanical Garden, on the west side of Polliwog Park. Free Parking next to the Botanical Garden on Peck Avenue, or the adjacent lot at the end of Peck Avenue off Manhattan Beach Boulevard. After the class is over, stop by to check out the Feel Good Festival in Polliwog Park.

Contact Julie to register at (310) 546-1354, and refer to the Manhattan Beach Botanical Garden website to view the schedule of upcoming classes.
