Afterschool REC
Two child care programs (Extended Care and Park Pass) offering outdoor play, enrichment activities and more.
REC Camps
Camps offered during breaks in the Manhattan Beach Unified School District Schedule.
REC Summer Camp
Campers will enjoy the benefits of outdoor activities, sports, pool days (MHP), beach days (LOP), and participate in hands-on arts and crafts projects while making new friends and lifelong memories.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to the REC Program, since 1986 your one stop shop for day care needs. We have a year around Afterschool Program that operates out of Manhattan Heights Park and Live Oak Park. We offer a walking school bus program from school to the park. When school is out, we offer full day programs and Camps. The REC program is designed for children ages 5 ½ years old to 12.

Activities are supervised by trained CPR certified recreation leaders. Children will be participating in self-directed and organized recreational activities designed to positively impact social connections, human development and lifelong learning. Some activities include: homework help, arts and crafts, music, dance parties, movies, fitness fun, snacks, gardening, cooking, sports, tournaments, field trips, themed activities, and more.

Registration Information

Registration

Registration for the 2024-2025 school year will open on Monday, July 8th at 6 AM for both residents and nonresidents.

Online
- The online registration service requires a nonrefundable convenience fee of 5.84% of the total charges.
Mail in
1400 Highland Avenue
Manhattan Beach, CA 90266
Attention: Parks and Recreation Department
- Include payment on form (check payable to "City of Manhattan Beach" or credit card)
- Make sure to sign Release of Liability and Cardholder Signature if paying with a credit card
- Receipt will be emailed to you
DROP OFF in CITY HALL DROP BOX
- You may drop off your registration form in drop boxes located in front of City Hall and near the Library drop box at any time
- Pay using check or credit card
- Please put you registration form and payment in an envelope, with ATTN: Parks and Recreation Registration on the front of the envelope
