Job Description:
The City of Manhattan Beach had a Reserve Firefighter Program in which the firefighter works three 24 hour shifts per month. Under general supervision, they maintain their ambulance, equipment and respond to all “911” calls. Reserve Firefighters assist in the treatment and provide transportation of patients to medical facilities, complete paperwork including patient assessments and billing forms, fight fire, respond to alarms and emergency calls for protection of life and property, participate in training, public relations, fire prevention and assist with station and equipment maintenance. This program has a 5 year maximum tenure and allows persons who want a career in the fire service to gain valuable job training while they test the waters of the job market.

Qualifications:
Complete a CA State Fire Marshall recognized fire academy and possess a valid EMT 1 certificate.
