Manhattan Beach, a General Law City, has a five-member City Council, elected at large to formulate policy for the city. Each member serves a nine (9) month mayoral position during their four (4) year term.
City Council meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of every month at 6:00 PM in Council Chambers located in City Hall at 1400 Highland Avenue. Meetings will be broadcast live via Manhattan Beach Local Community Cable, Channel 8 (Spectrum), Channel 35 (Frontier), and Live Streaming Video. Post meetings will be rebroadcast on Thursday and Saturday at 12:00 PM and 8:00 PM (webcast link may intermittently be unavailable due to vendor's scheduled system's maintenance). Meetings also may be viewed on demand by selecting the date next to . Public participation and input is encouraged. Meetings may be rescheduled to an alternate date or cancelled by City Council minute action. Please check the City Calendar to note any changes or contact the City Clerks office at (310) 802-5056.
Cable television viewers experiencing any issues (audio or video quality) with cable broadcast are advised to do the following:
- Frontier customers should contact Frontier’s local business line at (800) 921-8101. Be sure to have the phone number or account number associated with the billing address ready.
- Spectrum customers should visit Spectrum's Loss of Picture Support page for assistance.
