Marine Avenue Skate Spot Rules(PDF) |
The Marine Avenue Skate Spot was officially opening to the public on Saturday, March 18th after it was initially proposed 16 years ago.
Dating back to 2013, Spohn Ranch helped the City of Manhattan Beach analyze sites, host public input meetings and conduct a skate spot feasibility study. Open space within City limits was limited, making the process challenging, but the City ultimately landed on Marine Avenue Park as the designated home for their first Skate Spot.
The Skate Spot is located in the northeast corner of Marine Avenue Park, just past the baseball diamond’s outfield and adjacent to Manhattan Beach Studios.
The 6,000 square foot concrete Skate Spot will consist of state-of-the-art terrain. Transition elements will line the perimeter of the skate spot and feed a street section in the center with stairs, rails and ledges.
