For the past eight years, the City of Manhattan Beach has been a strong supporter of Earth Hour, a global event led by the World Wildlife Fund. Each year, the historic Manhattan Beach Pier goes dark for one hour to show support for this climate awareness movement.
The City encourages citizens to take individual action and participate by turning off all non-essential lights in your home and/or business from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM on Saturday, March 19th as a part of Earth Hour 2016.
Several local businesses are supporting the initiative. The details are below, and in the Earth Hour 2016 flyer (PDF) which you can share with your family and friends.
