Titan-II Missile Documentary Film and Presentation
Join the Older Adults Program on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM for a free film and presentation on the Titan-II Missile.
In the 1960s several of us had family members who worked on our nation’s missiles and rockets. This documentary film tours a Titan-II missile complex in, Arizona. It’s the only Cold War “underground-launched” ballistic missile preserved as it once was, on-Alert as a deterrent against Soviet aggression for 24 year until deactivated in 1987, and now is open to the public as a National Historic Landmark. Hear what it was like from a person who was first involved with design and development at MIT then became a launch officer in 1961-63.
