We want to hear from you! The City of Manhattan Beach would like feedback from the residential and commercial community about the City's solid waste services. The City's current contract with Waste Management expires in 2018, and we will use feedback from the community to inform our next steps as we begin the open bidding process for solid waste services. "Solid waste service" includes curbside trash pick-up, recycling, and yard and food waste; composting classes; annual paper shredding; bulky-item pick-up and more.
Survey
There is one survey for Residents (residential property owners/tenants), and one survey for Commercial (business owners/managers). Please take a moment to fill out this survey and help us choose the best options for our community. If you live and own/manage a business in town, please complete both surveys. Paper copies of the survey (for those who prefer to fill out a hard copy survey) are available at the City Hall and Public Works Reception Desks.
Community Meetings
The City will also hold Community Meetings for Residents and Commercial Businesses on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Police/Fire Conference Room at 420 15th Street (Police/Fire Facility in the Civic Center Plaza). The Commercial Business Community Meeting will take place at 9:00 AM and the Residential Community Meeting will take place at 6:00 PM the same day.
Open City Hall
Open City Hall is the City's online engagement tool that allows our community to provide feedback even if you can't make it to City Hall. It's easy to use, just follow these steps:
- Click on the topic you're interested in (in this case, "Solid Waste Services" for Residents or Commercial Users)
- Click on the "Take the Survey" button at the bottom of the page
- Fill out the questions provided
- Choose how you would like your feedback to be displayed:
- Posted on the website with your name
- Posted on the website anonymously
- If you would like your feedback to be publicly displayed on this website, whether with your name or anonymously, you will have to create an account with Open City Hall. We do this for a number of reasons, including maintaining civil online discourse and ensuring that all voices are heard equally.
- Sent to City staff to be considered with other feedback but not posted publicly on this website
- If you do not want to sign up for Open City Hall, your feedback will still be counted but will not be publicly shared with others who visit this website
