The City is studying its vulnerability to climate change to better protect Manhattan Beach's coastline, public health, and infrastructure. Sea level rise, an increase in extreme heat days and more severe storms are all potential threats that the City intends to prepare for within Climate Ready MB. Engaging all voices of the community throughout the process of this project is key to ensuring long-term success.
As a next step to the first public meeting, the City will conduct a series of virtual focus groups. Each of the three meetings will provide the same content and allow for an intimate discussion of the preferred adaptation strategy for the City. These meetings will present:
Focus group meetings will occur at 6pm on February 17th and 23rd. The meetings are open to all and additional meetings may be added as needed, to allow full community participation.
