A core component of Climate Ready MB is a Climate Action and Adaptation Plan is setting goals and identifying strategies to reduce the City’s emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs) that are contributing to global climate change. The City is in the process of forecasting future emissions and setting science-based targets that align with California’s regulatory mandates and international best practice. Scenarios are being developed to determine how emissions can be reduced from contributing sectors (e.g., energy, transportation, waste disposal, and water consumption) to achieve these targets.

The primary goals of this focus group meeting is to gain community input on:

• Manhattan Beach's GHG emission reduction targets
• Actions that the City can take in the coming years to achieve GHG reductions
