EARTHQUAKE PREPAREDNESS PROGRAM
Earthquakes can occur at any time. Planning and practicing what to do in the event of an earthquake is crucial to be able to respond safely. Frank Chiella, retired Battalion Chief from Manhattan Beach Fire Department and current President of Manhattan Beach Community Emergency Response Team Association (CERT) will discuss how to take the necessary steps to keep yourself, your family, your pets and your home safe before, during and after a disaster. Learn how to prepare your home and property, what emergency supplies to have on hand and create an earthquake bag, and what to do if an earthquake happens.
EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM HELP Directly after the presentation, Dayle Eisenhauer will be available to help you switch your emergency communication platform on your phone from Nixle to Everbridge. Everbridge/Alert Southbay is the City's new emergency notification system. For those of you with Android phones, Sherri Roman will also be here to assist.
