Each summer, blood donation centers experience low blood supplies. Manhattan Beach Police Department (MBPD)/Manhattan Beach Fire Department (MBFD) Battle of the Badges blood drive not only helps with the blood shortage but builds camaraderie among local first responders through a friendly competition to see who can recruit the most blood donors.
