To help guide decision-making at all levels of the organization, and to focus the City's efforts on its core functions, the City developed a Strategic Plan in January 2012. The Strategic Plan consisted of a mission statement, core values, three-year goals, and six-month objectives.
The City Council's three-year goals state what the organization needs to accomplish (consistent with the Mission and moving the organization towards its Vision).
The City has identified four (4) three-year goals for 2012-2015 (not in priority order):
- Maintain and enhance financial stability
- Increase organizational effectiveness and efficiency
- Maintain and enhance city facilities, programs and infrastructure
- Encourage engagement and increase participation of residents and businesses
The City Council and Department Heads reconvene every six (6) months to evaluate progress on the goals, identify core values for the City, and to develop objectives for the following six-month period.
