7:15 AM ACTION ADVISORY: Tsunami Warning on West Coast Beaches

Low level EOC Activation
The City of Manhattan Beach is monitoring reports from Hawaii and Northern California. A two to three foot tidal surge will hit our beach sometime between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM this morning occurring at low tide. Note that no damage is expected on the City of Manhattan Beach beaches. Manhattan Beach pier is closed as well as the lower North and South Pier lots and El Porto and 26th lots.
The City recommends that residents monitor local television and radio news for updates. The beach is not closed at this time. It is recommended that people stay off the beach as a precautionary measure.
