Resources to Help Quit Smoking

The City would like to assist our employees, residents, and local businesses with employees who smoke, by providing resources to help employees take steps towards quitting smoking.

  • More information on quitting smoking, and free resources are available on the Tobacco Free CA website.
  • There is also a Prop 99 program to provide free nicotine patches to help people quit smoking. Please see the details below.

Free Nicotine Patches for LA County Residents
There’s no better time to try to quit smoking, because right now LA County residents can get FREE nicotine patches to kick-start their quit attempt. If you’re ready to quit smoking, just call the California Smokers’ Helpline: 1 (800) NO BUTTS – to get a free, four-week supply of nicotine patches, no strings attached.

Using nicotine patches can double your chances of successfully quitting smoking by lessening feelings of withdrawal and reducing cravings. The patch is easy to use and will help you adjust to a smoke-free lifestyle by getting off nicotine slowly.

To be eligible, you must live in Los Angeles County and be 18 years of age or older. For more information please refer to the LA Quits handout.
