The Environmental Priorities Network (EPN) exists to help educate the South Bay community about the importance of conservation and sustainability at the local, national and global level. EPN was formed in September 2001 by a small handful of South Bay citizens concerned about global warming, nuclear power, clean air, smart growth, globalization and the environment.

Grades of Green (GoG) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring and empowering kids and the broader school community to care for the environment. The program has inspired children to make a difference, and has resulted in significant savings for the schools. GoG has engaged parents and raised interests among the community to continue rolling out this program in other communities. 

The Manhattan Beach Botanical Garden (MBBG) is located in Polliwog Park, on Peck Avenue, just north of Manhattan Beach Boulevard and is open from 8:00 AM to sundown daily. Admission is free. MBBG offers free classes to teach residents how to plant and care for drought tolerant gardens, compost, and create wildlife habitats with native plants.

The South Bay Environmental Services Center serves the region as a clearinghouse of information on energy efficiency and helps people in the region save money on actions that reduce water and energy consumption.
