beams from the World Trade CenterThe City Council directed staff and the Cultural Arts Commission to develop a memorial in remembrance of September 11, 2001 using two steel beams that the City's Fire Department received from the World Trade Center site. A Request For Proposals was sent to artists, design teams, landscape architects and architects nation-wide.
