HOW IS THE CITY RESPONDING?
On a global level, the City's current response to addressing coyotes is comprised of a variety of activities that include:
- Revising the City’s Coyote Management Plan and presenting it for City Council approval at a future meeting;
- Addressing trash issues occurring in public spaces and school district properties where coyote sightings are occurring and reducing those attractants;
- Conducting education and outreach on steps residents can take to reduce coyote attractants including passing out materials (attached) to neighborhoods with coyote sightings and at City events; and
- Tracking data on coyote sightings to allow the City Council to monitor activity and respond appropriately.
Please be assured that the City Council will continue to monitor these developments.
