Parking Enforcement duties are provided by Community Services Officers, who work collectively with Area Traffic Officers and Neighborhood Watch Block Captains to minimize parking problems in residential neighborhoods.

Responsibilities include managing limited parking resources through effective enforcement, investigating municipal code violations, monitoring parking and traffic flow at construction sites, and providing traffic control for accidents and street closures because of incidents (power lines down, gas leaks, hazardous material spills, etc.

Parking and Animal Control duties are fulfilled by Community Services Officers (CSOs).  Community Services Officers perform a variety of non-sworn duties, including enforcing parking regulations by vehicle or foot patrol, assisting with animal control matters, assisting with licensing activities, and inspecting, investigating, and citing municipal code violations. CSOs are civilian employees who wear uniforms, but are unarmed.

Their primary functions are parking enforcement and animal control, although CSOs serve many secondary functions such as supporting the Traffic and Patrol Sections, assisting the Fire Department, and responding to general emergencies as needed. CSOs regularly coordinate with other city departments, and this teamwork helps ensure the success of our community's numerous special events.

• Provide consistent and effective enforcement of all parking laws
• Work with the Community Development Department and contractors to address parking concerns at specific construction sites
• Be proactive toward problem solving as a result of complaints or calls for service
• Work collaboratively with residents on specific parking violation concerns to enhance a safe community.
