Join the City of Manhattan Beach for the 18th Annual Earth Day Celebration and Concert at Polliwog Park, Saturday, April 17, 2010 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Rain location will be across the street from Polliwog Park at the Manhattan Heights Community Center, 1600 Manhattan Beach Boulevard.
The City of Manhattan Beach, in conjunction with V.O.I.C.E (Volunteers and Organizations Improving the Community’s Environment), will host the day's events featuring a large assortment of fresh food and family fun including music, games, eco-friendly products and information on the City of Manhattan Beach’s efforts toward making our city a greater and greener place to live, play and work.
The first “official” Earth Day was held on April 22, 1970. People from around the nation got involved in efforts to help protect the environment. Since then, Earth Day has been celebrated in countries all over the world.
The first Earth Day celebration in the City on Manhattan Beach was held in 1992 at Polliwog Park and has grown to include more than 7,000 participants annually.

VENDORS
If you are interested in being a vendor or having a booth at the 2010 Earth Day Celebration and Concert at Polliwog Park, please fill out and submit the completed 2010 Earth Day Vendor Application (WORD).

Garden Tours
- Water-wise landscaping and ponds; bus provided
- Presentation on Drip Irrigation with Mike Garcia of Enviroscape at the Manhattan Beach Botanical Garden
- 10:00 AM Garden Water Wise class held in the Manhattan Beach Botanical Garden
15 Minute Eco-Sessions
(on the mini-stage starting at 11:30 AM on the half hour)

Reuse/Recycling Drive
- Bring gently used, clean, professional and casual clothes to the Raytheon booth
- Bring used prescription glasses to the V.O.I.C.E booth
- Free document destruction service provided by American Shredding from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM
- Bring old files for shredding and recycling in front of the Red House
- Battery and printer toner cartridge recycling at City of Manhattan Beach booth
- Free e-waste recycling (monitors, computers, cellphones, cords - no applicances) by 1 Earth Recycle at the Manhattan Beach Middle School parking lot located at 1501 North Redondo Avenue from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM
