Highland Avenue Construction - Public Meeting

Work to begin in late March

The City of Manhattan Beach Public Works/Engineering Department has scheduled a Community Meeting for the upcoming project to improve Highland Avenue from 15th Street to 45th Street. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at 6:30 p.m. in the Police and Fire Department Conference Room, located at 400 15th Street, next to the Police Department Entrance.

The scope of work will include:

• Street resurfacing
• Sidewalk, curb and gutter replacement
• Decorative patterned crosswalks at 34th, 35th, 36th Street and Rosecrans Avenue
• New curb extensions at 39th, 42nd, 43rd, 44th and 45th Street 

Work is expected to begin in late March 2010 and be completed by the end of May of 2010. Residents on Highland Avenue and in the surrounding area are encouraged to attend the meeting. Representatives from the Contractor  and City staff will be on hand to discuss the project and answer questions.
