Help Prevent Identity Theft and Spring Clean at the Same Time!

America Shredding, the City's contracted document destruction company, is AAA Certified by the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID) and compliant with all privacy laws.  America Shredding will be providing FREE document destruction services at the City's Earth Day Event on April 17, 2010 at Polliwog Park from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. 

What to do:

• Gather all documents/records you wish to destroy such as classified documents, coupons, credit cards, cd's, x-rays, floppy disks, tax records, sales records, etc.  You may bring any documents you wish to have destroyed.
• Bring them to the America Shredding document destruction truck next to the Historical Society Red House at Polliwog Park on Saturday, April 17, 2010 between 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
• You will witness your documents being destroyed!  You'll place your desired documents in the America Shredding lockable toter cart and right there the America Shredding truck will lift the cart, unlock the toter, empty the contents into a criss-cross shredder, and return the toter cart for your inspection.  The cart will return empty and all destroyed contents will be in a large, secure container inside the truck.
• There will be an America Shredding employee there if you need assistance with loading documents inside the lockable cart.  The employee will operate the truck during the entire event. 
• The shredded contents will be recycled.

Please take advantage of this FREE event!  Two "15 minute" parking spaces will be reserved on Manhattan Beach Boulevard at the truck location for the convenience of participants.
