The Pennekamp Open will be a round-robin style tournament which will guarantee each player not only four fast-paced hours of tennis, but also a fun filled day with free tennis lessons by local professionals and lots of prizes. There will be four divisions of play (A Through D), two winners per division. All proceeds will benefit the Manhattan Beach Education Foundation.
Registration
Register early! There are a limited number of spaces, per division. Registration fee: $100 per player; checks should be written to: Pennekamp PTA. Here’s how to register:

- Stop by the Pennekamp school office, fill out the 2010 Pennekamp Open Registration Form (PDF) and provide payment.
Checks must be received no later than Wednesday, March 24, 2010 for a registration to be recorded and accepted. A minimum of 12 players must be registered in any one division. If a division has fewer than 12 players, then the Pennekamp Open committee reserves the right to move players to another division. Players must be able to compete the entire length of the tournament; minimum of four hours of tennis. Players must be 18 years of age or older. So make sure your friends register too!

Rules
Pennekamp Open is a women’s doubles style round-robin tournament. Players will register as individuals and. therefore, each match the player will have a new partner. Each match will consist of eight games total within a 45 minute time period with no-ad scoring. Each game won will count as one point. Each player will play a minimum of four matches. The top two players within each division, with the most ooints or the highest number of games won, is the winner. Players will be responsible for their own score cards provided by the tournament. There must be a minimum of 12 players per division. If not enough players register in any one division, the committee of the Pennekamp Open reserves the right to move registered players into another division. Players must be available for a minimum of six hours during the day of the tournament and must play for the entire length of the tournament.
