Los Angeles Community Forum on Toxics

Join us in Torrance to learn about the chemicals in your community, and what you can do about them!

In California we have 344 "high risk" chemical plants that each put over 10,000 people living in surrounding communities at risk. Solutions are already being put into place: 28 plants in California have converted to safer practices, but comprehensive chemical security legislation needs to be passed to protect the rest of the communities.

The Los Angeles Community Forum on Toxics will be a relaxed, family-friendly forum where speakers will provide a wide range of information on the chemicals in the community and the work being done to protect communities from toxic hazards.

Please read the Los Angeles Community Forum on Toxics flier (PDF) for information on the event being organized by Greenpeace, with the support of Congresswoman Jane Harman's office, the Coalition for Clean Air, and local United Steel Workers 675.

If you would like to attend the Toxics Forum on Sunday, March 21st at 1:00 PM in the Nakano Theater in Torrance, please RSVP to Jenny Binstock.
