Earth Day "Birthday" Ceremony

Join the City in Celebrating our Green Community!

April 22nd marks the 40th anniversary of Earth Day celebrations in the United States. To honor this tradition of environmental stewardship, the City Council proclaimed April 17 - 23rd as Manhattan Beach Earth Week.

The City has made tremendous progress in its environmental endeavors. And this year we are pleased that our City employees and our community members have taken the Go Green Pledge to help protect our planet. Join us as we celebrate our "green" community and acknowledge the environmental efforts of our local schools and students during a very special Earth Day "Birthday" Ceremony in the Civic Center Plaza. (In case of rain the event will take place in City Council Chambers.)

Following the ceremony, the City's Environmental Task Force will hold the final meeting of their first term. Those that are interested can attend the Environmental Task Force meeting at 5:00 PM in the Police and Fire Community Room.

Please RSVP to Sona Kalapura if you are interested in attending this meeting, or if you have any questions about the City's Earth Day celebrations. You can visit our Going Green website for more information.
