The 50th Annual Manhattan Beach Open 2010 Volleyball Tournament will begin Saturday, August 21, 2010. We will not be running the qualifying round of play on Friday, August 20, 2010.  For more information, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (310) 802-5448.

Thanks to three generous sponsors, 12th + Highland, Waboba and Nectar Accessories, there will be $15,000 in prize money awarded to the top finishers. The money will be distributed equally between the top Men's and Women's teams.

City of Manhattan Beach proudly presents the granddaddy of all Beach Volleyball Tournaments, the Manhattan Beach Open. This is the 50th Anniversary of the Manhattan Beach Open. The tournament will be held Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, August 20, 21, and 22, with the qualifying round on Friday and tournament play on Saturday and Sunday. Play begins at 9:00 AM daily. Admission is free.

Bring your beach chair to sit court side and watch professional volleyball players compete for their plaque on the Manhattan Beach Pier "Volleyball Walk of Fame." This year's Manhattan Beach Open - 50th Anniversary Classic will offer the traditional beach volleyball format of play.

This year's tournament will honor the sport of beach volleyball and its deep roots in Manhattan Beach, the "Home of Beach Volleyball."
