Edison Work in Hill and Tree Section Starting Monday, January 10th
Southern California Edison will start work on January 10th to improve service in the Hill and Tree sections indicated on the attached map. They plan to convert the area from a 4kv to a 16kv system. Doing so will add needed capacity to the area and reduce the number and duration of outages. The work will include pole and transformer replacements and some wire removals due to the elimination of the old 4kv circuit. More and larger transformers are required to address the higher 16kv voltage and to address the increased electrical demand in the neighborhood. The larger transformers require stronger and taller poles. Ten poles will be increased in height, which is also shown on the map referenced above. Due to the elimination of the 4kv system, fewer wires will remain on the poles after the project. Work should be complete by January 30th.
