The contractor, John T. Malloy, Inc. has completed mainline water main installation in Manhattan Avenue from 8th Street to 15th Street. They are now working to connect existing meters to the new water main. All meters south of Manhattan Beach Boulevard should be connected to the new main by the end of Tuesday, May 1, 2012. Starting Wednesday, May 2, 2012 the contractor will begin connecting to meters north of Manhattan Beach Boulevard. The contractor will then return to perform final paving over the trench.

This portion of the project has taken longer than originally anticipated due to unforeseen underground conditions discovered at various locations along Manhattan Avenue. It is estimated that completion of the work will be delayed until May 18, 2012.
