Nominations for the 2013 SEED Awards are now open and will close on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 8:00 AM. The SoCal Environmental Excellence Development (SEED) Awards Program was created to honor local individuals, groups, and businesses that have exhibited excellence in helping to improve environmental sustainability and quality of life in the South Bay. This unique event is the only such ceremony held in the South Bay, partnering businesses with local government and showcasing environmental leaders in their communities.
Applications are available on the South Bay Business Environmental Coalition website. Honorees will be selected by a panel of business and industry representatives. The award presentation will take place on September 26, 2013 by invitation only.
Former Manhattan Beach award winners include: Door-to-Door Valet Cleaners, Northrop Grumman, Manhattan Towers, and Go Green Lunchbox. Honorable mentions have gone to Manhattan Beach residents Daniel Salzman, John Wilcox and Peter DeMaria, the Roundhouse Aquarium, and several businesses including: Lucky Earth, Manhattan Bread and Bagel, Body in Balance Health Center, South Bay Green, Dealer.com, and The Zislis Group.
More information can be found on the City’s Going Green website or on the South Bay Business Environmental Coalition website.
