New Year's Day is a holiday observed by both Waste Management (Refuse) and Athens Services (Street Sweeping).  Therefore, a modified residential service schedule will be in place for both refuse and street sweeping.   

Refuse
Residential refuse will be collected ONE DAY LATE for those whose collection typically occurs on Wednesday, January 1st through Friday, January 3rd.  Therefore, if your normal service day falls on Wednesday, January 1st, your trash, recycling and greenwaste will be collected on Thursday, January 2nd.  If your normal service day falls on Friday, January 3rd, your trash, recycling and greenwaste will be collected on Saturday, January 4th.

Street Sweeping
There will be NO RESIDENTIAL STREET SWEEPING on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 in observance of the New Year's Day holiday.  Service on this day will not be made up; all other routes will operate as normal.
