Caltrans has just advised City staff that paving resurfacing along Sepulveda Boulevard (Rosecrans Avenue to Artesia Boulevard) will commence Monday June 2nd through Tuesday June 27th of this year. The project is a mill and overlay project, in which the wearing surface is removed through a grinding process and a new wearing surface is applied. This repair process is identical to the work recently completed on Ardmore Avenue. The work will be staged in such a way to allow one lane open to through traffic as the grind and repaving process progresses. Temporary striping will be applied immediately after paving operations, with permanent thermoplastic markings applied after initial curing of the pavement. Information regarding this project will be posted on the City website to inform our local residents. Per Caltrans Resident Engineer, Mahinda Ram, work will occur during nighttime hours, presently 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Flyers will be distributed to businesses by Caltrans on May 27th notifying them of the project and will include Caltrans' contact information.
