Breathe Free MB Campaign Kickoff

Breathe Free MB logoIn an effort to protect our coastal community, City Council adopted a smoke-free public places policy that will address the impacts of second-hand smoke and ocean pollution related to cigarette litter. The City of Manhattan Beach has partnered with the Beach Cities Health District, the Surfrider Foundation, and the Downtown Manhattan Beach Business and Professionals Association to kickoff the "Breathe Free MB" campaign to provide information and resources to the community, and its visitors, on the importance of maintaining a smoke-free environment in our public places.

The Breathe Free MB kickoff event will take place on Tuesday, July 22nd at 11:00 AM at the Manhattan Beach Farmers Market in collaboration with the Market’s 8-year anniversary and healthy living programs.

Our Mayor and organizations supporting the ordinance will speak about the new Smoke-Free Public Places ordinance, and its impacts for the City, beginning at 11:00 AM.

Volunteers will be on-hand to distribute program information to promote the Breathe Free MB campaign, as well as reusable canvas bags to encourage pollution prevention while shopping local at the Farmers Market.

Following the Breathe Free MB kickoff, the LA Kings' mascot -- Bailey -- will be visiting the Farmers Market at 11:30 AM. The rest of the anniversary celebration will include kids activities, and a cooking demo among other events.

So please plan to join us on Tuesday, July 22nd, at 11:00 AM and contact Sona Coffee with any questions at (310) 802-5341.
