Where will you be on Park(ing) Day?
Join the Beach Cities Health District (BCHD) and the Blue Zones Project in downtown Manhattan Beach this Friday, September 19th from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM to participate in this international day to create temporary parks and appreciate open space.
Two parking stalls in front of Blue Zones restaurant Little Sister will be converted into temporary active open spaces featuring an outdoor seating area, stationary bike, and lots of fun giveaways in recognition of this second annual Park(ing) Day event.
Special prizes will be given to those who bike, skate, or walk to the event and join in this unique celebration of open space. To see some examples of how other cities celebrate, please visit the Park(ing) Day website.
More event details are available on the Park(ing) Day flyer (PDF). If you have any questions, please contact BCHD's Thuy Nghiem at (310) 374-3426 ext. 265, or the City's Environmental Programs Manager Sona Kalapura Coffee at (310) 802-5341.
