Your first stop will be at the Gainey Winery. Here, you’ll have a chance to tour this peaceful vintner’s estate, which is nestled in the middle of vineyards. A souvenir wine glass is yours to keep, commemorating your visit to Gainey. From there, you’ll head into Solvang for a delightful smorgasbord buffet featuring a variety of authentic Scandinavian fare, as well as American dishes. There is time after lunch to shop and visit the bakeries before you head off to the heart of the Santa Ynez wine country. Seven hundred acres of manicured rose gardens, award–winning vineyards, stunning architecture, sweeping vistas and friendly down-home hospitality make a visit to Fess Parker’s worth the drive. Though long retired from his celebrated roles as Davy Crocket and Daniel Boone, Mr. Parker continues to reinvent himself-this time with an award winning family owned and operated winery. You’ll enjoy a private wine tasting and have some time to visit the wine and gourmet shop. The winery also has a terrific gift shop offering coonskin caps and Daniel Boone memorabilia, as well as Fess Parker wines and gourmet treats.
