Hey families, it’s time for the 14th Annual Family Camp Out! Every May, the Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation Department sponsors a Family Camp Out on Begg Field located at 1402 North Peck Avenue. This event is $25 per person and is a great opportunity for families to have a low-cost camping experience without having to drive a long distance to get there, purchase a lot of expensive equipment or even have to know how to camp. It's also a wonderful way for families to play together in an unusual atmosphere.
After setting up their tents, families can join in games, ice block bowling, movie in the park and arts and craft projects organized by recreation leaders. A barbecue dinner will be served, family skits and a story teller will be presented and the evening will end around the campfire where participants can sing songs or roast marshmallows. Breakfast will be served the following morning, followed by the Fishing Derby!
Manhattan Beach residents can start registering online starting March 2, 2009! Nonresidents, mail in, fax in and walk in will begin March 23, 2009.
