The Martin Ganz Benefit Trust was established in the memory of Martin Ganz, a Manhattan Beach Police Officer who was shot and killed in the line of duty on December 27, 1993, during a traffic stop.
Officer Martin Ganz was a motorcycle officer, and he was well liked by the youth of the community he served. Officer Ganz participated in several educational programs for youth, including Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE), and traffic safety programs.
The Martin Ganz Benefit Trust has been established to award scholarships to youths for college, trade or technical schools, tutors, summer camps, or other special educational needs as determined by the Board of Trustees.
