Labor Day is a holiday observed by both Waste Management and Athens Services.  Therefore, a modified refuse collection and street sweeping schedule will occur the week of September 4th through September 10th.

Refuse
Residential refuse collection will be delayed by one day for the collection week of September 4th - 10th in observance of Labor Day.  For example, if your regular collection day is Monday, September 5th, then your collection will take place on Tuesday, September 6th.  If your regular collection day is Friday, September 9th, then your collection will take place on Saturday, September 10th.

Street Sweeping
Athens Services, the City's new Street Sweeping company, will begin services on September 1, 2011.  Street sweeping will not occur on Monday, September 5, 2011 in observance of Labor Day.  The routes for September 6th through September 9th will operate as usual.

Parking Enforcement will not enforce the street sweeping restrictions on Labor Day, September 5, 2011 only. All other parking restrictions will be enforced.
